Covering up around 4 500 km² of land, Katavi National Park is the third largest national park in Tanzania. The national park was established in 1974 and is located in the Katavi Region of Tanzania. Although the park is the 3rd largest park of Tanzania it still receives very less crowd and gives an untouched, unique experience, and absolutely worth visiting. The national park is dominated by 2 glorious plains of knee-high golden grass – Chada and Katasunga which offers a plentiful amount of game.

During the dry season survival solely depends upon n fragile seasonal rivers, the Katuma, the Kavu, and the Kapapa. Buffalo, lion, hyena, and elephants make the wildlife watching really interesting.

• The park is very exclusive and receives only around 1000 tourists each year.
