5 Days Mount Meru Climb

Overview

Mount Meru, located at the heart of Arusha National Park, Tanzania, is a stunning destination for trekkers. Many climbers opt to trek Mount Meru before attempting Mount Kilimanjaro, as it helps with altitude acclimatization. However, Mount Meru itself offers a rewarding experience, boasting breathtaking views, diverse vegetation, and abundant wildlife. Compared to Kilimanjaro, its trekking routes are much less crowded. While trekking, you may encounter wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, baboons, colobus monkeys, and a variety of bird species. This allows for a unique walking safari experience amidst nature. The Mount Meru ridge trail is an exceptional climb, offering 360-degree panoramic views from the summit. On clear days, climbers can also enjoy a spectacular sight of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Unlike Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru has only one official route to the summit—the Momella Route.
