Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania, consisting of two main islands, Unguja and Pemba, along with several smaller islands. The region experiences a tropical climate, remaining hot year-round, with distinct wet and dry seasons.
The dry season brings warm and humid conditions, especially in coastal areas, which tend to be hotter and more humid than inland Tanzania.
The rainy season occurs in two phases:
– Long rains (March–May), with peak rainfall in April, often bringing heavy downpours.
– Short rains (mid-October–December), which are lighter and less intense.
The warmest months extend from October to March, with temperatures typically ranging between 31°C and 33°C.
