Overview

• Sadani National Park is the 13th national park of Tanzania that covers an area of 1062 km2.


• The park was a game reserve since 1969 which officially gazetted afterward as a national park in 2005.


• Sadani National Park is the only wildlife sanctuary of Tanzania that combines the grassland and shoreline.


• After declared as a national park there is a tremendous improvement in wildlife as hunting got banned after it got the title of a national park.


• The land is home to a wide range of grazers and primates that includes giraffe, buffalo, warthog, common Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Hartebeest, wildebeest, red Duiker, greater Kudu, eland, sable antelope, yellow baboon, and vervet monkey.


• The national park offers a spectacular bird view including flamingos and pelicans at the river mouth.
