Overview

It’s advisable to do a little preparation before you go on a trek to Mount Kilimanjaro or a trip to the Mount Kilimanjaro national park. As the mountain is one of the highest peaks of Africa your body needs to get acquainted with the changing oxygen level and weather.

• Rapid changes in the humidity and temperature cause coughs and colds; with flu-like symptoms hence it’s necessary to Aspirin and other flue medicines suggested by your doctors.


• Drinking plenty of water will keep the body hydrated and acclimatized.


• Keep yourself protected from sun exposure by using good SPF sunscreen lotion.


• Get the required vaccination prior to your visit suggested by your physician.


• Do some cycling or light exercises to keep yourself fit for a little trekking.


• Take rest in between, as the national park is different from other national parks and you have to hike to the higher altitude to discover the park completely.


• Never forget to pack your personal first aid kit with you.
