Overview

To be honest there is no wrong time to plan a safari; it solely depends upon your choice, budget, and availability of time.
As the country is closest to the equator only 2 seasons can be experienced, which is the dry season and the wet season. The dry season continues from June to October which is best to plan a safari trip to all the national parks of Tanzania.

Best times:

  • June to October; the dry season is best to visit all parks

  • June-July and January-February; a short dry season which is best for wildebeest migration safari

  • The southern and western circuit parks only get crowded in the dry season

  • April and May still get fewer visitors

  • March to April is considered as the peak of the wet season which receives very less number of visitors
